As someone who loves volleyball either being on the court or cheering on my team, my competitve side always pushes me and my team to keep pushing ourselves to become better players and teammates. When im playing, I give everything when I play, no matter how sweaty and tired I get. I push my team and I through long rallies and encourage them to fight through it.
As I do love to smash the ball as hard as I can, in recent years Ive learned to become smarter when I get the ball to help my team get closer to the end. Before every game or practice I take a moment to check in mentally, so I can focus and keep a positive mindset for my teammates. One of the ways I do this is I like to take the time to come up with a goal that I can work on. I usually write it down so after I can reflect on how I did and if I achieved it or if it still needs work.
I took the Community College route to become a better player as well as a better student. As someone who wants to become a pediatric nurse, being a better student will help me get the career I want in life. As a player I want to refine my skills and become and overall better athlete. Im hoping to get into a D1, D2, or D3 University that has a competitive spirit and passion that will help keep building my skills, as well as a nursing program to push me towards my Pediatric Nursing career.
