I have been playing volleyball since I was about ten years old. Ever since then, it has been one of my biggest passions. The sport has helped me become a better person, teammate, and athlete. Friends of mine began the sport when they were younger, and seemed to like it quite a lot. So I decided to try it out, not knowing how much volleyball would change my life. The skills I have gained from the many years of playing are indescribable. Leadership, responsibility, patience, and kindness, are just a few. I have had both fantastic coaches, as well as some that may have needed more training. However, each and every one of them required me to grow in different ways, which bettered my experience and strengthened my skills.
Both academically and athletically, my main goal is to be the best I can be. Achieving the GPA and knowledge that is right for me, and the skills and technique that builds my character. Strengthening my leadership skills is also important to me. Developing supportive relationships with my peers has never been a challenge for me, and working as a part of a team is something I am continually improving. I believe being a positive role model is an integral aspect of becoming a successful student athlete.
Although I do have a natural talent for volleyball, putting in consistent time and hard work has definitely improved my capabilities. I am the kind of person to attach and commit to a specific skill, and work to become excellent at it. If I set my mind on something, refuse to quit, and try my best to achieve it, I do.
Unique characteristics that I possess are that I am highly coachable, and my determination is unstoppable. There are very few people I have met that have the same drive as I do. Many of my previous coaches have informed me of how simple and pleasant it is to teach me. I have found that nothing is more rewarding than achieving a goal I have worked hard to accomplish. Being the best teammate, athlete, and overall person I can be is what I strive for. There is nothing more important to me than success, but that only comes with courage and dedication.
I look forward to my years of development and playing as a student athlete for a team I love.
