I'm very passionate about volleyball and I would love to play at the collegiate level. I also have plans to major in education because I really enjoy mentoring children. Currently, I advise special needs children attending the 6th to 8th grade. We work on both basic job skills and social skills. I like to help them participate in activities that they are unable to do on their own and watch as they become more confident in their abilities and more comfortable interacting with others.
I started playing club volleyball when I was eight and have played with the same core of girls for the last 6 years. I am an outside hitter. Currently, my reach is 72.5", my approach vertical is 110.5", and my standing vertical is 109". I like hitting, and have been working really hard on my blocking the past couple of years. I also enjoy playing defense in the back row. I especially like the challenge of playing in position 6, where our libero usually plays. I like having to read the hitters arm swing to figure out where I need be. My team has earned a bid to Nationals the past 3 out of 4 years and I will be heading to Minnesota at the end of June to participate in the U15 National Division. I have made all tournament team this year at both the 2017 NW Junior Jamboree U16 division and the 2017 Emerald City Classic 15 Open division.
I am super competitive and believe that I am very coachable. I am always striving to get better. I am a team player and understand that a real sense of team can make the difference between winning and losing. I celebrate my teammates accomplishments and support them when they are struggling.
I'm excited to find a school that is a good fit for both my athletic abilities and career goals.
