I love the game of volleyball and all the opportunities it has provided me. I have been playing club for 6 years and have made many friends and memories during practices, tournament play and travel. The lessons I have learned from playing along side very competitive teammates and coaches is what drives me to have a goal of playing at the college level. I look forward to competing for both my High School team and Club Teams. The communities, families, and teammates that I get to compete with and represent during each season make me strive to be better and work harder every year.
I am the oldest of 3 girls in my family, all of which compete for OJVA. My dad played Soccer and Tennis for Whitworth University (91'-93') and my mom played volleyball for Gonzaga University (94-97'). I hold myself to a very strong academic, athletic and personal standard.
As a freshman I played #1 Doubles for the THS Girls Varsity Tennis Team. In the Spring of 2018 I went 15-1 in season and made it to the Quarterfinals of our League Playoff, missing a State Qualifying spot by one match. As a Sophomore my partner and I worked hard to finish 5th place at the State Tennis Championships, OSAA 6A State Tennis. We also earned 1st Team All conference honors. I enjoy playing both Volleyball and Tennis for my High School Teams.
Last summer I moved to Vancouver, Washington for my dad's job with the USTA. It was an emotional move before my Junior year in High School but a move that was best for our family. I have learned many valuable lessons during this year, but most important to continue to work hard and adjust to new situations. At Columbia River High school I started as a six-rotation player for the Varsity Volleyball Team being new to the program. We placed 2nd in the Greater Saint Helens League and 7th in the WIAA’s 2A State Tournament. I maintain a 3.8 GPA and am currently enrolled in 2 IB classes and have forecasted for 4 IB classes my senior year. I am a member of Columbia Rivers National Honor Society and the Treasurer for Columbia River’s DECA. Even though I left many friends, I made new ones and continued to engage my new home and work hard.
I love spending time with my family and large extended family. I enjoy spending time outside on the water and looking for new trails to explore in my free time. I enjoy the family competitions on the Tennis and Volleyball courts, but also love all the yard games that we invent and play during our down time with our dogs and parents.
Playing College volleyball would be a privilege and amazing opportunity to set goals, strive towards athletic and academic excellence and be able to compete with fellow strong driven female student athletes. Being part of a Collegiate team would be an exciting opportunity on top of my college education. I would be able to dive into a Community both on and off the court.
