Emily Johnson '19 Recruiting Profile

The highlight of my volleyball career was my junior year, when my team went to districts for the first time in thirty years, and ended up knocking out the champions from our league in the tournament.  As a two-sport athlete, I also had the privilege to help lead my tennis team win the league title for the first time in my school's history.  These experiences, along with attending college camps, really solidified my passion for volleyball and especially playing at the college level.

On the court I assess not only what hitters are available, but who's on the other side of the net. That is how I help my attackers succeed. Every ball I set, hit or dig is done in a way that is aggressive, but has a point. This relates to my academic goals as I plan to graduate high school strong with my Associates Degree.  In college I hope to pursue a degree in Music Composition and Theory.  The success of performing solos in music competitions has added to my personal confidence which carries over to the volleyball court.  I am ready for the challenge of a college career in volleyball.
