My name is Bryana Barry and I am graduating in the class of 2022 from East Valley High School in Yakima. I have been wanting to play volleyball at a higher level since I started playing in 7th grade and I hope I am able to get the opportunity to do so. I have been one of the starting outside hitters for our volleyball team since I was a freshman. I have also been one of the teams co-captains for three years. For my entire athletic career I have been told many times that I am coachable and have a great work ethic. I am never satisfied with being "good enough" and always strive to improve my skills and leadership. I am constantly asking questions about my own play as well as the play of the entire team to help everyone be the best athlete that they can be. I am one of the players on my team that the coaches can count on to come in focused, and do what needs to get done. no matter what the situation is and also help others along the way. Once volleyball season is over I then start basketball and after that I start track and field. I really believe that having a wide variety in the sports you play can really make you a better overall athlete.
As I move out of high school and into college I plan on bringing my love for sports into my career. I plan on going into physical therapy or athletic training so I can help injured athletes just like the ones that helped me during my times of injury. People pursuing this can career can really make a different in the lives of all ages. To ensure I am ready for the next phase of my life I am about to begin the second year of my physical therapy course at my local tech school. To ease the financial strain that comes with going to college and to push myself in my academics, I previous took an AP biology course and am going to be taking an AP English and AP Chemistry course during my senior year. Having good grades has always been a priority to my family and I, so with managing my time between school and athletics I finished my junior year with a 3.9 GPA.
