Hello my name is Courtney Standley, I am transfer setter from Yakima Valley College. I maintain a 3.7 GPA and am a multiple sport athlete playing volleyball, and basketball here at YVC. I previos played USAV Club Volleyball, Sand Volleyball, tennis, and AAU Basketball. Currently during off season I coach a club volleyball team and officiate volleyball as well.
I started playing club volleyball at age 9. I've always been around the sport to where I'd have to say volleyball is in my blood and it's part of who I am. I've watched my older sister play since I was born and I just fell in love with this sport. I'm very hardworking, extremely coachable, super competitive, and a very passionate athlete. I was a Setter, OPP and DS when needed for my high school and club teams, but I've also played every position which makes me very versatile. At YVC I was mainly Setter, and OPP, however, I also played Outside when needed as well. I've been team captain for both my college and high school teams, and on my club teams. My freshman year of high school, I received the Viking Award from my Coaches for being most dedicated and a great role model. I was nominated 1st Team All League, 2nd Team all league twice, and 1A All-State Team. The past two years at YVC I’ve received Setter of the week multiple times, offensive player of the week, 2nd Team East Region, Sophomore All Star East Region, NWAC All Star, and 1st Team East Region. To me academics are top priority as I strive to maintain a 3.5 GPA and end college with a degree in Athletic Training.
