I have never looked back after starting my volleyball career in 2012 at age 8 in the 3rd grade! Here it is in 2021 and I’ve played 9 years of school ball and heading into my 8th year of club travel ball. I have played in major tournaments such as MEQ's in Louisville, KY, Big South in Atlanta, JVA World Challenge in Louisville, Capitol Hill Classic in Washington D.C., Atlantic Coast Power League tournaments in VA and NC, AAU Nationals in FL, and the USAV High Performance Nationals in Tulsa.
Volleyball is my routine and the court is like a second home to me. I wish to continue playing at a high level throughout my high school days and then play competitively at the college level. I’ve dreamed about finding the right college for my academic and athletic interests, and I have worked hard for years preparing for that day. I am very interested in finding a university in the Southeast U.S. but am open to considering colleges in other parts of the country that have good medical and volleyball programs. I hope to be either a pediatrician, nurse, or veterinarian someday, because I love helping people and animals.
I primarily have been an all-around 6-rotation outside hitter player and while I love the thrill of hitting, I enjoy the determination it takes to make an amazing dig or execute the perfect pass. I have been named Team Captain multiple times because of my leadership skills. I not only recognize my role on the court, but also know how to help my teammates stay strong when times get tough. I am a clutch player that comes through when things get tense during matches, and my teammates know they can look to me for leadership. I am a self-less player, always thinking about my team, and I (and my coaches) consider myself to be very coachable.
In 2017, I tried out for the USAV National Team in the Future Select age group and was invited to attend the USAV National Skills Training Program in Colorado Springs, CO. I learned a great deal during that training and got to see the Team USA Olympic Training facility! Then in 2018, I tried out for and was invited to be on the USAV Old Dominion Region 14-Select team. Our team participated in the High Performance National Championships in Tulsa, OK in the summer of 2018. That was quite an honor to be selected to represent that team.
I hope the colleges considering me, will recognize my academic and athletic skills, and will help me pursue my career interests and play volleyball at the collegiate level. Education is important to me too and I focus day to day to continually improve my GPA by taking Advanced Placement level classes and am in the National Honor Society.
Thank you for your consideration!
