Personal Statement

Water Polo is one of my favorite things to do! Before Water Polo I was a competitive gymnast for 7 years and a diver for 3, but it just wasn't the same as Water Polo. I love having a team and working with others to achieve one common goal. My goal is to play goalie at a college level because it could change my entire life and make me a better athlete, student and person. I honestly don't know what I would do without Water Polo. What I love most about Water Polo is the thrill of a game, the feeling I get when I block a ball, that it is a team sport and everybody has to work together. I go into each practice wanting to improve more and more.  I am supportive of my teammates and have good sportsmanship. I am very coachable and take direction from coaches to make myself a better player.

I have always done well in school and have always gotten good grades. Currently I have a 4.0 GPA and I am a member of my schools' Key Club, Change Works Club and Sports Medicine Club, and I am vice president of Save the Species Club. I am also a member of California Scholarship Federation and my school's Link Crew! I volunteer at several places outside of school as well. I interact with my classmates and do all I can to excel in each class. I have always been driven to push myself in school and in the pool to be the best that I can be.

I want to represent my school and club team in the best way possible. I want to make my coaches, teammates, and my family proud!
