Personal Statement

In spite of being committed to playing at Miramar community college, I still hope to transfer and play polo at a 4 year college. If interested, please contact me at [email protected] as I hope to further my skill at the community college level. Thank you.

When I started water polo, I just thought of it as a fun way to make new friends but everything changed the second I played my first game. Water polo has become the one thing that is always on my mind ever since. I am passionate about it and constantly striving to improve. Nothing is more satisfying to me than learning a new skill in practice and then using it in a pivotal play and getting the job done. Going on to college and playing polo is my goal and when I set goals I achieve them. My life has been revolving around water polo for the last three years and I do not plan on stopping that any time soon.

Through water polo I have learned to be a leader and take charge of my own destiny. In practice when girls are goofing off, I have always been the one to tell them to focus and get back to work. Water polo is a team sport and every single position plays a part, I can play at 110% but that is not enough to get an entire play to work. Teamwork has been something that I've learned to embrace as a result.

I am and have always been a hard worker. When I am on a mission to achieve a goal, nothing can stop me. My hard work is what I attribute all of my successes to. Nothing has ever been given to me so via a ironclad work ethic, I have overcome barriers that I have encountered. Freshman and Sophomore years in my academics are not something I am proud of. I did not realise the impact it would have, and ever since I have made the goal to play water polo collegiately, I have not had a grade below a B. I've managed to turn my academics around because of a goal that I set and my drive to reach it.

Thank you for your time.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
