I want to play water polo in college because it has become a huge part of me physically & mentally over the last few years and I would be so excited to continue my passion at the collegiate level. Throughout my short life, I have played many sports and my life has never felt more complete as when I am playing water polo. When I am in between seasons, I notice my life feels a bit out of balance. I do not sleep as well, my eating pattern is altered and my all around mental & physical health is different. When i go back into season and regain the balance, my mental and physical well-being is restored. Water polo has embedded itself into me and has brought me a life that is truly mine. Playing water polo is how I make my parents proud of me; it drives me to do better in school; it has brought me life-long friendships and it has helped me connect more with my sister who plays Division 1 soccer. The future has always been a terrifying thought to me and like most teens, I do not necessarily want to grow up; however, when I am playing water polo, I am not afraid of the future because I am in my most natural and comfortable state. I become fearless and my mind clears and water polo gives my life enough structure to make me feel safe but enough uncertainty to make my life challenging and exciting. I hope to have a family and a job in the future but the one thing that puts me most at ease is that I know for certain, I want water polo to always be a part of my life. The passion I have found for the sport of water polo as well as my size and strength as both a Center and Utility player is why I believe I will be an invaluable player and teammate at the collegiate level and I promise to always give the best of me to my team.
