Life! After high school, it sounds scary but real. Many of my peers think about college everyday and some have no understanding that life after high school does exist. As I am writing it seems so surreal I will have to make a decision on my long term goals as well as hundreds of seniors around the globe. What I think about is where do I want to go? What college will inspire my interest and where do I start? All my friends are getting so nervous and so I’m I but, moving forward and taking the leap of faith will only get me closer to my dream, to become an Orthopedic Doctor. For starters, writing this essay is my first step and letting the whole world know I am ready to take on challenges and new adventures in my life. I have been thinking of college since I was a little girl and how I was going to make this dream a reality. I came up with to basic ideas, one; do I have what it takes and two; was I fearing fear itself? What a moment when I realized I can really do this and bring my whole passion along for the ride. I’d gone from thinking I would go to an affordable community college to a high learning level college because my academics proved I have what it takes to follow any dream I may have. For the past few years it’s been on my mind to continue a sport I have most passion for and that is water polo. Water Polo has inspired me to become a person I am today. For example, it shows me team work, sportsmanship, responsibly, and most of all time management with leadership. I am a person who has transformed into a responsible, reliable individual who as inspirations to help other when in need. I am also a whole hearted person with a loving family and friends. As I write my statement my tears of happiness fall from my eyes knowing my future is about to start meaning my dreams, goals and life after high school. In addition, one day I hope to give back to the water polo family and all sports as I journey in the line of medicine. Having playing varsity water polo all my high school years and passing on the torch sort of speak will be overwhelming but inspiring for those who follow the same path. So far this year I have played many tournaments including Jr. Olympics 2012 and received many awards for my achievements which have been yet my proudest moments. I am hoping to continue those moments in a college that will grow on me as I will grow on them as well.
I do hope that throughout this essay I would have illustrated my passion water polo and the importance of my long term goal. I hope to hear from your college as I look forward for a bright future in medicine. I am ready to take the next step in my education after high school. To me, that step is college, my dream.
