Personal Statement
The pool is my second home. I first started swimming when I was 6 years old and haven't left water ever since. In the meantime I trained two sports at the time, combining swimming and finswimming as well as finswimming and waterpolo. Waterpolo is a sport I fell in love with after my first training and it soon became my passion. I have also been playing on the same club from the start (ŽAVK Mladost). Throughout this time I was awarded 7 MVP awards on both national and international level.
When I first joined the team, I was a benchwarmer, but after 2 years I started playing for the senior team and am now in the starting lineup. As for the younger club categories, I am the captain of the junior team. In 2019 I started playing for the national team (u15) and went to European championship, where we placed 6th. Then, in 2021 went to another European championship (u17) where I was also the captain of the team, and we placed 7th. I enjoy the leadership position because I am a person on which one/team can rely on. With my responsibility I set the example for the younger players in and out of the pool.
Along with waterpolo, my number one priority is education. I go to mathematical gymnasium, bilingual department and am a straight A student. My schedule is filled with extra classes of Maths, English and Physics including I've competed in Maths competitions.
My main goal is to succeed in waterpolo at a competitive college and later on professional level including furthering my studies. Being a student-athlete would help me improve both in waterpolo and academically along with developing as a person throughout college and finally acheiving my goals.
