Morgan Christian '23 Recruiting Profile

My ambition is to create a career that focuses on sports enhancement through dietetics. I am deeply committed to achieving my goals through hard work and discipline. These are two of the most valuable cornerstones of my character. Regular early morning teams and planned private gym and swimming workouts serve as a reference to these traits that resulted in me having the privilege of being selected to the South Africa National Water Polo Team from the age of 15. My leadership qualities can be linked with my ability to connect with people. I find immense joy in meeting new individuals and cultivating meaningful relationships. I used these qualities as vice-captain of my water polo 1st team to motivate and encourage my teammates during both victories and defeats. This assisted with fostering camaraderie and resilience within the team. I firmly believe in leading by example and inspiring others to achieve their best. Sport has provided me with the resilience and determination to succeed when faced with disappointment. It has provided me with life skills of being gracious in defeat and humble in victory. I have incorporated the above qualities into my schooling and academic environment where I serve in leadership as a prefect and have achieved distinctions in a number of my academic subjects. As a cultural extramural activity, I have been a member of Herschel’s acapella group Fusion, which has assisted me in exploring and developing my creative skills. My sporting, academic and cultural commitments have taught me how to be strategic by allowing me to set short and long-term goals, and proactively plan and manage my time efficiently. This has made my experiences less stressful and more enjoyable. I am confident that I will be able to use the qualities described above to add value to your institute by continuing to impact positively, lead and learn.
