Personal Statement
Having competed in aquatic sports from an early age, I progressed through the England Water Polo Player Talent Pathway, competing at local, regional, inter-regional, national and international levels. I have represented Great Britain in the European Championships in Croatia in August 2021 as part of the U17 GBR Junior Women’s Water Polo Team. More recently I have been selected as a member of the U19 GBR Women’s Water Polo Squad.
Teams:
• Leander SC
• Hucknall WPC
• Nova Centurion WPC
• Midlands Regional Squad
• East Midlands Regional Squad
• U17 GBR Junior Women’s Water Polo Squad
• U19 GBR Women’s Water Polo Squad
As Goalkeeper, my primary focus is defense and guiding the team through strong communication. In recognition of my personal contributions I have been awarded both “Top Goalkeeper” and Most Valuable Player (MVP) in inter-regional tournaments.
In addition to water polo and my academic pursuits, I also serve as a Corporal in the British Army Cadet Force, and have recently been awarded the highly coveted role of Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet for Nottinghamshire.
Additionally, I have achieved my Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award, played the cello with the Robin Hood Youth Orchestra for many years and successfully competed for several years with the Green Arrows Artistic Swimming Club.
These interests have helped me to develop into a strong team player, whilst harnessing my leadership and communication skills as I strive to be a good mentor and example to others.
I have also come to appreciate how inspired results can be achieved by approaching situations creatively, collaboratively and with passion.
