Personal Statement
Becoming a varsity athlete has been a lifelong dream for me. When I began my athletic journey as a competitive swimmer, my dad told me about his incredible experience as a varsity swimmer recruited from Canada to swim in Ohio, and I was determined to do the same. From the age of 12, I swam at National Competitions, consistently made finals at Nationals, and set many club records.
In May 2018, my team, Team Saskatchewan won the Canadian National Championship League Finals for 19U women. I was on the starting line up. Last year, my team placed second in the country.
My extra-curricular activities include working with the special needs students at my high school in the FIAP program, lifeguarding and being a swim instructor. In college, I would like to study Communications and Linguistics. I am bilingual (English and French), and have studied other languages, such as Spanish and Italian.
I am 100% committed to training and competing to the best of my ability this upcoming year, and I am determined to make my dream a reality.
