Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Ecaterina Silisteanu, I’m a Romanian water-polo player and I would love to come to the US as a student-athlete. My goals for college are to benefit from a high quality education and to play water polo at the highest level possible, in a division 1 team.
I started swimming at 5 years old and became competitive at 11. Four years ago my club founded their first water polo team and I decided to join it. In just 4 years, I managed to be part of the main team at all age groups — U17, U19 and seniors — and I am also team captain of the U17 Romanian national team. My coaches appreciate me for my agility, smart game and very good resistance to effort.
I am also a very good student, my GPA is, and has always been, 4.0.
I am very passionate about music as well. I play the piano, the drums, and I sing in a professional choir. I do many benevolent activities among which we can count French and English lessons with children, home workouts with teens and swimming and water polo lessons with young girls.
