* Video disclaimer, although the video is short and low quality I wanted to get it out as soon as possible. I feel like it is still able to capture a few of my best moments, I will add more when I get them this coming high school season.
Who I am as an athlete.
I fell in love with water polo in 8th grade. Cincinnati Marlins started a non-competitive team to introduce swimmers to the sport and through that opportunity, I was hooked. After two years with the Marlins, I started playing for the Cincinnati Mavericks under Coach Paul Split. I am an attacker and typically play at the wing, recently I've stepped into the center defender position. As a teammate, I am ALL IN. I am aggressive and fast but am ready to share the opportunity and the glory. In 2019-20 I went to both of the ODP (GLZ) camps and competed in North Carolina under Coach Kirby Kaptur. Playing at that level really fired me up. Although I’ve been only playing water polo for a short time I’ve been swimming for over 8 years. I’ve been working on my swim times, endurance, and strength. this past summer I trained with Cincinnati Moose and competed in the Dallas Junior Olympics. I train every day to bring an intensity to the pool that pushes my teammates to play harder.
Who I am as a student.
Up to this point, academic success has come naturally to me. I currently go to Highlands High school in Ft Thomas, KY. For two years in a row, I’ve been on the Super Honor Roll and plan to continue the streak through graduation. Biology is a passion of mine and I hope to study that in college. After school, I’ve been volunteering at the Thomas Moore Biology Field Station with Dr. Christopher Lorentz. My role is to support his lab techs and take care of the animals and clean their tanks. I also test the Ohio River for “agal” blooms. In preparation for my Biology degree, I recently finished my scuba diving certification.
More about who I am
I’m extremely grateful for my family and teammates who have helped shape me into the player and person that I am today. As I continue to grow, I’m focusing on being teachable, studious, fun, kind, and proactive.
