My name is Elsie Roberts and I am a water polo goalie. I became interested in water polo in 7th grade. My friends encouraged me to try out, so I decided to go for it. I fell in love instantly, not just playing the game, but also for the training and the friendships I could make. To me it is more than just a game. I am very competitive. I get into it at a different level. By this I mean I am deep into the game mentally and physically. I am all in, pushing myself past my limits to play at the best level I possibly can whether I am in the water or cheering from the sideline.
A lot of things have influenced me to be who I am today. The top two are my parents, and teammates. My parents push me to be my best everyday academically, mentally and physically. My teammates encourage me to be the best goalie, to be influential, push them to their full potential and be there for them when they need it most.
Academically my current goal is to finish high school as an Academic All-American. My college goal is to receive a degree in occupational therapy. As for personal goals, my top two are preparation and mindset. I want to make sure I give myself the best set up I can for my school work and my game play physically and mentally for myself and my team. I want to improve on the skills I have gained so far. I never want to feel like I have nothing else to learn. I am looking to be challenged and have the opportunity to continue to build on the work I have done so far.
