Rachel Heredia '21 Recruiting Profile

I've been playing water polo for about 10 years now, and I've had a lot of experience but i'm always seeking to learn something new everyday. My goal as a athlete is to become the best form of an athlete as i can be. I've had experience playing internationally. In 2019 i got recruited to play in Mexico by a team in Nuevo Leon and participate in a tournament called "Olimpiadas Nacionales" in Yucatan Mexico. I also played in a tournament in Nuevo Leon and i practiced with them for about a week. I've played in the ODP nationals in 2017,2018,and 2020. I've also played in the Junior Olympics in 2017,2018,and 2019. And of course I've played plenty of tournaments here at home and around the 4 corners and mountain zone. What makes me different from other recruits is that i'm always looking for a new opportunity to learn something new, i don't come from a place where the sport i love is greatly known at all, but i still managed to find a way to get the proper experience and knowledge i need due to the love i have for this sport. I also really use my skills from swimming a lot in my play. I also am a utility player and i will go wherever I'm needed, my stronger spots are Center Defender and attacker. When it comes to academics I'm always trying my hardest to stay on top of my grades and doing things when needed, I'm gonna be honest I'm not always the best at keeping my grades at where I want them but I never give up and I always try my hardest to keep them where i need them. I don't like leaving things unfinished and i like to keep my academic life really organized.  I like to think myself as selfless and i try my hardest in everything i do.
