I started playing water polo (then known as splash ball) when I was ten years old along with many other sports like basketball and soccer. My love for water and passion for tough competition quickly made water polo my favorite sport.
Beyond my love for the sport, water polo has taught me to find my inner confidence. I’ve learned that with confidence, anything is possible. But water polo is not just about me. My team is what drives me to go to practice every day. My water polo teammates are some of the closest and most real friendships I have ever had. I cherish all the relationships I have made playing this sport. I would love to continue my water polo career in college because I can't imagine myself ending my water polo career after high school.
My name is Talia Thomas and I am a member of the Class of 2025. I am a right-handed utility for my club team and set for my high school team. I live in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, where I play for the Episcopal Academy. I am proud to play for a high school that has graduated some of the best players on the east coast. For my club team, I play for the Wissahickon (WCAC) Mavericks. The experience of the coaches and the players on this team has taught me so much. I have attended Junior Olympics 3 times. In the summer of 2021, I spent the summer in Santa Barbara, California, and played for the SB805 club team. That summer, I played with, watched, and was coached by multiple Olympians.
I know there is so much ahead for me and I would love to continue to improve and continue to share my passion for water polo in college.
