Even though I have been playing waterpolo since I was eight years old, every year I find a new reason to love the sport and a new way to develop my skills as an athlete, which is something I want to continue to do throughout my college experience.
Waterpolo as a sport has taught me so much and has truly shaped me into the person I am today. The sport has made me both physically and mentally tough, which helps me not only in a game, but in my daily life as well. With the intense schedule that comes with waterpolo, it has also taught me how to balance school, extracurriculars, and my personal life.
My strengths include a high endurance, speed, and the ability to anticipate which allows me to succeed in both offence and defence. I am always willing to put the work in to succeed as I recognize working hard is both beneficial to me, and my team. I always strive to be a team player and to encourage and bond with my teammates. Additionally, I have strong ball handling skills, as well as quick decision-making skills which allow me to be an effective player for my team.
At school I am constantly working to keep a high average and to balance my athlete and student life. In my high school career I have made both Honour roll and High Honour roll and am continuously working to be a role model to the people around me. I enjoy participating in the clubs that my school provides as I enjoy being part of the community and working with my classmates.
As both a student and an athlete, I want to pursue a college where I can challenge and improve myself academically in the classroom, as well as physically in the pool. I am willing to put in the work and to find a school and team in which I can excel in.
