This year will be my second year wrestling for MJHS, and I enjoy everything about my team, wrestling career, and experiences. Comparing myself from my 9th-grade year to my current year as a junior, I am a different person, referring to how undisciplined, pessimistic, and less confident I was. Regardless of the growth, I know I still am growing, and I'm proud of everything I have accomplished and ready for a new chapter in my life academically and as an athlete.
I wanted to try a new and secondary sport because I had the grades to be able to, so I asked my two older brothers, former wrestlers, to help me choose between volleyball or wrestling. Flag football was before wrestling, and now wrestling is a primary and only sport. I want to be the first to pursue what I love in the family, which inspires me to set higher goals. At the end of my sophomore year, my coach told the whole team to go to his old wrestling club during the off-season, Alabama Takedown Academy, which teaches freestyle and greco, so I have experience with three different styles of wrestling in total.
I'm looking forward to being recruited to a wonderful wrestling program along with a great education. I love and am open to opportunities!
