I am a first year wrestler that placed 2nd in the state of Arizona. I have been an athlete for as long as I can remember, so trying new sports has always excited me. I wanted to try wrestling my senior year, but was also being held back by my love for soccer, another winter sport, which I had done my whole life. Fortunately I was given the opportunity to do both, as a dual sport athlete. Despite being crazy busy, I managed to make it work. Academically, wasn’t a concern; I have always strived for academic success, which shows through my 3.9 G.P.A . Through excelling at both sports this winter, I learned time management skills that I will carry with me my whole life.
I have always put my academics first, and prepared for the future. Which is why i’ve taken dual enrollment college classes such as Fire Science, English 101 and 102, and College Math and Statistics as a senior in high school. While I can keep academics at the forefront, I can’t imagine doing it without being an athlete as well. I would love the opportunity to continue pursing my wrestling passion at the collegiate level.
