Snap down; double leg; DQ; arm bar; finish with a half. My a-game may not seem like much, but nothing beats the basics.
My name’s Alyssa Jackson, and ever since I found wrestling in my 10th grade year, I haven’t looked back. Starting out, I was an absolute wreck: my loses tripled my wins, I only went to City’s due to the number of girls and placed while losing all my matches with the same reasoning.
But where I saw failure, my coach saw potential and trained me over the summer to doubling my wins, earn my way to City’s, and become the first girl of my school to make it to States.
I may not have done this for a long time, but my determination is what set me apart from the rest.
