My wrestling career began in August of 2021. After seven months of training and with the help of my coaches and family, I competed in the USA Wrestling California State Folkstyle Tournament and finished second in a thrilling match. Eight months after learning to wrestle, I won the USA Wrestling California Greco State Championship in April. I enjoy both competing and meeting new people, and I've discovered that doing both at tournaments isn't difficult. Whatever the outcome, there is something special about competing and sharing the mat with others. I've made friends with the wrestlers I've competed against, and I plan to make more as my competition progresses.
On September 3, 2022, I won the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada by securing two submissions: an arm bar in the semifinals and an arm triangle in the finals.
