I started wrestling my sophomore year of high school. This was the first year any school in our district had a women's wrestling team. I wanted a new challenge in my life, something different and new to experience so I joined the team and ended up qualifying to state. Since then I have continued to practice and improve, traveling to wrestling camps and participating in the club season. I'm one of the hardest workers in the room and I'm always looking to learn more and become a better wrestler.
This coming season, should we get one, my goal is to return to state and place. Academically I always strive to keep a 4.0 or higher and pass my AP classes and tests. I am also a part of National Honors Society, Sources of Strength, and Yearbook. My high school accomplishments include going to state in cross country, wrestling, and track all before Covid-19 hit in March which stopped me from qualifying to track and cross country for a second time in the spring and fall, and I was the anchor for the 4*400 and 4*800 meter relays in which we broke the school records.
I have now, as of June 2021, qualified in wrestling and track for a second time to state. I was top 8 for wrestling and have yet to compete in track. I plan to do club wrestling the rest of summer and fall, leading to the high school season in the winter.
