Hello, my name is Leah Dooley I am a Senior at Lee County High School in Leesburg, GA. I have been on the team for 3 years. I have been wrestling on and off since I was 10 but I've been around the sport for 11 years. I followed my older brother around the mats since I was 6 years old. I was a mat girl starting in 4th grade for his middle school team and every year following. I practiced with the high school starting summer after my freshman year. I didn’t wrestle the entirety of that season because I was on color guard team, which I also enjoyed, but since then have focused on wrestling. In that first half season of my Sophomore year I placed 5th at area and was an alternate for sectionals (22-23). My Junior year I placed 4th at area and qualified for sectionals. I have been going to the Storm wrestling club over a year now. Going to Storm has really helped me work on skills and get better with connecting moves. I try to get to as many local and national events or camps as budget allows and will continue to do so in the off season, if there is such a thing.
I am an A student and I have taken AP/Honors classes. Currently I have a 3.59 GPA and I have taken both the teaching pathway and the health care pathway. I am very interested in going into the health care pathway, possibly as an orthodontist or a chiropractor. I currently work at an Italian restaurant part time for my work based learning program at school and Wednesday nights I work at the church taking care of the toddlers.
I absolutely love the sport of wrestling and I can’t wait to continue my wrestling career and education as a student athlete.
