My name is Medina Kadic and I am currently a Varsity and Head-Captain of Ridgewood High School’s Wrestling Team located in Norridge, IL. “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss it you will land among the stars.” - Les Brown. This famous quote led me to my goals and aspirations ever since I had started Wrestling. I believe that as a wrestler, you should have a realistic perspective on your potential and how far you can go. I set it to aim-high but also maintain that perspective. I’m not perfect, but I know I can always do better. For instance, I had placed 4th in IHSA Women’s Wrestling Sectionals last year, which yes, had me dissatisfied, but strived me to improve. That placement had also qualified me for the first ever IHSA Women’s State Finals and which came to an end when I had a sad loss and placed 8th overall in State. I wasn’t happy but I wasn’t mad. Heck, I was glad that I had placed at all. Those accomplishments/downfalls persuaded me, and at the end of that season, I knew that my main goal of this current season would be to at least believe in myself. I know it may sound cliché, but it is my honest truth. Just a bit of that would give me endless opportunities to be above and beyond.
I’ll admit I am not the best, but at least I can offer myself an opportunity to prove that I dedicate myself entirely to this sport. I have no second thoughts when it comes to what I know I want to achieve in college. I am a flawed person, but that doesn’t stop me from holding back. I would love to be a part of your college's Wrestling team, but that is something that I cannot decide. Other than that, my grades throughout high school have been good, I have been in Honor Roll all throughout high school, and I love being a part of school activities and fund-raisers. I push myself to be in quite a few clubs, which I don’t necessarily know how I have the time to squeeze them all in, but hey, it works. For my college study, I would love to go into medicine and hopefully become a travel-nurse after earning my degree. Ultimately, thank you for your time and reading my statement. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to contact me. Hope to hear from you soon. :) Thank you.
