I am Alona Smith, I am a 17 year old junior at Kokomo High School. This is my first year wrestling and there is a lot I can do to get better but I do believe I improved tremendously. I went from loosing every match to winning at least one every tournament. I am very committed once I sign up for something. If I put my word out there that i'm going to show up and i'm going to do something, I do it with all of my effort. I would like to go to college and major in Nursing. I would like to play a sport but if not that is not the end all be all about going to college. I feel like I would be a good candidate because even though I have little experience I learn and pick up things very quickly and I put in the work outside of practice and outside of the season. I not only am good at sports but I care about my community and often do things like service projects to improve and work in the community I live in. I also know how to balance sports and academics. I am a leader in my school and community and represent my school, team, and coaches on and off the mat.
