I have participated in several sports and activities throughout my entire life. Wrestling has shifted my perspective on life and helped me grow as a person. Wrestling has helped me find myself and be who I am without judgment. Not necessarily wrestling itself, but trying something that none of my peers were trying makes me unique because it is hard to do something alone. Being the only girl in a male-dominated sport can be overwhelming, and this was hard at times. Trying something different with a different atmosphere was also enjoyable. Wrestling has taught me many things, including being myself, self-discipline, using physical and mental strength, and identifying my strengths and weaknesses. I love expressing myself through art like music, photography, dance, writing, showing livestock, and sports; it makes me who I am. I have become myself through the extracurricular activities I participate in. I love trying new things. I appreciate other people sharing their feelings and emotions through their talents. Watching a person perform what they are passionate about is something I understand. I can relate to performing emotionally. The sentiments come naturally because I am passionate. College is something I look forward to so I can grow in my current passions and discover new opportunities.
