Jaiden McLaren '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jaiden, and I am a senior at Winterset High School.  2023-2024 Wrestling season is the first season Winterset has offered girls wrestling. As I approach the end of the season, I’ve qualified for the State Tournament by placing 3rd at our super regionals meet. I’m excited at the prospect of playing at the collegiate level after I conclude this season next week. wrestling has become a strong passion of mine since and it has played an important role in shaping my confidence this year.

This season I have been a dedicated member of our inaugural girls wrestling team, serving as a captain for our Varsity team. This role has not only honed my skills as a player but has also taught me the importance of leadership, teamwork, and perseverance. I have learned to inspire and motivate my teammates, both on and off the mat, leading by example through my commitment, work ethic, and positivity.

Academically, I have maintained a strong GPA, understanding that being a student-athlete requires excellence in both arenas. Balancing rigorous coursework from my numerous AP, CE and advanced classes, in addition to wrestling and soccer schedules, has taught me invaluable time management and organizational skills. I am confident that these skills will enable me to successfully navigate the demands of being a college athlete.

I am looking for a college program that values not only athletic expertise but also academic achievement and character development. I am eager to contribute to a team environment that fosters growth, resilience, and a competitive spirit. I am committed to working tirelessly to improve my skills, support my teammates, and represent my college with pride and integrity.
