Wrestling has been a major part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started competing in 4th grade. Growing up there were never any women in the sport, I have trained with only boys my whole career. Constantly striving to be better than them has shaped me into who I am today. Today, I am a junior in high school and a coach at Chesapeake's youth wrestling program. I did not wrestle freshman year, so my high school career has felt like constantly trying to catch up on lost time. I ended up making it to state my first year back, many people told me to be proud, but I wanted more. Simply going and not placing is not enough for me. I strive for greatness, and that is what I hope to achieve. A loss is not a set back for me, just a realization. Dedication within the sport has always been easy for me, when you love what you do it comes naturally. Wrestling is not a hobby for me, it is my life. Academically, I have kept a 4.0 GPA throughout all school levels. I strive to become an Anesthesiologist, majoring in Chemistry. I have clear goals set for my future, and succeeding academically and athletically in college is one of them.
