~~My name is McCoy Kent (Class of 2015). My dream is to live it up and compete as a Division 1 wrestler. I have a natural god-given talent which allows me to excel in wrestling but hard work is always needed to succeed. I work really hard practicing year around, lifting weights and attending camps. Wrestling has been in my blood since I was 5 years old. I have been practicing harder and harder to compete with the best. “To be the best you have to beat the best”. I am a 3 year varsity starter and 3 year captain at my school. Some of my bigger accomplishments have been 2x Division Champion, runner up Masters Champion, qualifying for the California State Championships in 2012, placing 3rd in the 2013-2014 California State Championships and Top 12 at Flo Nationals in 2013 & 2014 against the best in the Nation. I am currently ranked #1 in the state, ranked #5 in the class of 2015 and hoping to win State my senior year. Also I am ranked #17 in the nation at 145lbs by openmat.com. I am a 3x time MVP wrestler scoring the most take downs all 3 years. I have broken many records and made history for my high school. School is a big priority for me as well and without studying hard and listening to my teachers I would not be able to compete in any sports. I am a role model in the class room and the wrestling room and wish to be a role model in college. Thank you!
