Personal Statement

I can’t wait for the wrestling season to begin! I am currently a  senior at Valencia High School in Southern California (Valencia). I am a three-year varsity starter, coming off an accomplished season with a record of 43-9, ending my season with a 2-2 record, breaking into the top 16 at the CIF State Tournament. My goals for this off-season are to continue to improve and push myself by training with my club team, attending a variety of camps and pre-season tournaments as permitted under the current pandemic guidelines. I am also committed to my academic studies and finishing my school year with a 4.0 GPA, which include honors classes.

Wrestling has taught me many life lessons and has a lot to do with who I am as a person. One of the lessons that I am most grateful for is that “hard work pays off.” Hard work in the practice room pays off during competition, just like hard work in the classroom pays off during exams and finals. Overall, wrestling has made me the person I am today.

I believe my values and work ethic separate me from the group. I try to be a good person, mindful of others, honest, committed and responsible. I believe in being helpful and helping others improve. I have been told that one of my greatest strengths is my determination, I never let up. I continue the fight to the last second.

I look forward to continuing my education and athletic competition at the collegiate level. I believe my hard work, dedication to the sport and my team will make me a great asset to any wrestling program. I am not afraid to push myself to the limits, I love learning about wrestling from others, and I just love the sport as a whole. I am excited for the opportunity to speak with coaches and learn more about their programs and how I may be able to contribute to them.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
