My late stepdad taught me what he called a "warrior’s mentality." He believed that if all you can do is stand and fight--then, you will become a better athlete, win or lose, as long as you never quit. He lived that way until the day he passed away in 2015. I’ve aspired to compete that way, in both wrestling and academics, as well as in my journey to become a medical professional.
I was introduced to the sport of wrestling in my 8th grade year. From the first day of practice I fell in love with the grind, learning to be coachable and disciplined. Wrestling has given me a way to push myself both mentally and physically, while also allowing me to be part of a team that is more like family.
I want to wrestle in college because this sport has literally changed my life. Wrestling has taught me how to channel my energy and passion within a positive and challenging environment!
