My name is Gabriel Alvarez and I was born and raised in New Britain, CT. I am a goal-oriented and disciplined student-athlete who takes work both in the classroom and on the mat seriously. As a high school wrestler, I have developed a passion for the sport. I consider myself a strong teammate and always look for ways to motivate my team in workouts and on the mat. Physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle are very important to me and help keep me grounded. I have been competing in martial arts since I was six years old and enjoy the challenge and excitement that competition brings. Besides sports, I'm also a member of the Golden Hurricanes Marching band and have been playing an instrument since I was in fourth grade. Academics have been a constant priority for me and have been invited to the New Britain High School Chapter of the National Honor Society. I will be inducted in June. Sports and music have helped prepare me for balancing my schedule and prioritizing tasks. I look forward to post-secondary education and competing in wrestling on a college level.
