My goals as a college student would not only to be a successful wrestler, but to further my education and to set myself up for a successful career. My academic goal while in college will be to maintain a 3.6 GPA or above while also succeeding on the mat. I have maintained around a 3.6 GPA or above during my high school career, so I believe this is a very achievable goal.
When comparing myself to other candidates I see myself as a clear choice based on my strong work ethic and being able to not only overcome adversity but to use it to improve myself as a wrestler and person. A great example of overcoming adversity is that I am a part of a military family and have had to move quite often. Despite this I earned a starting spot on the varsity team as a seventh grader at 99 pounds in New York, before moving to Florida at end of the season. In my eighth grade, freshman, sophomore and even junior seasons I made it to the Florida 2A state tournament. Placing fifth as a freshman as well as a junior, becoming the only Bay county wrestler to place during those seasons. My overall varsity record is 234-58 as my junior year comes to an end. I hope to talk soon !
