I’m currently in the at the end of my Junior year at Plainfield North High School in Plainfield Illinois. I am currently wrestling on the Varsity team at 160 at the starters position for the last two years. I have experience in hand to hand combat from the age of 5 years old when I started Tae Kwon Do. I am currently a 2nd degree black belt with 6 tips toward 3rd degree. I then incorporated MMA into my martial arts skills and studied Jiu Jitsu/grappling for 4 years as I was wrestling in Junior High. This was a natural progression into wrestling when I started in 6th grade. I ended up in both Junior High and freshman year taking 2nd at conference finals at 138 and 1st place at Sophomore conference at 145. Throughout all of my accomplishments I’ve realized that I should be shooting for something bigger than high school wrestling. but also to excel at academics.
In academics, I would like to pursue a major in architecture or construction management. I do also love the arts. I am currently in advanced drawing in High school and doing very well in these classes. This may be another direction of interest that needs further investigation. With that being said, I will put forth all of my effort to do whatever it takes to get an athletic scholarship of any size to offset some of the costs. Out of everything, academics are my main concern, but whoever gives me the chance to wrestle for their school, I will put the extra effort in to do everything possible to make it worth both our while.
Thank you for the consideration,
Nicholas Esposito
