Personal Statement

Hello, my  name is Christian Gordon and I am currently a senior in high school. I started wrestling in 9th grade and honestly, it changed my life. At 132 lbs, I placed 4th this year at Georgia State 7A- the toughest classification in our state. I am also a 4 time region and county winner and 3 time state qualifier. Last year I won the Most Positive Athlete of Georgia regional award for West Georgia, and I have also made SEWrestle’s Hammer of the Week multiple times each season. Wrestling has taught me confidence, discipline, and commitment. It also helped to shape my future academic and career goals.  I have been through a lot of things that have molded me into who I am today, so I now enjoy mentoring younger people through the lessons I have learned. I want to wrestle in college and hope to one day be an Olympian and a coach myself. I am interested in studying  education, athletic training, and exercise science, but I am still exploring career ideas.  I love fitness, training, coaching, teaching and motivating others. In my career and lifetime, I aspire to be part of the growth of the sport of wrestling. I also hope to change and improve the lives of others.  I will always work hard and dedicate myself to learning , growing, bettering myself and those around me. When I set my mind to something, I eat, sleep and breathe it. I am a small guy but I put my whole heart into everything I do!  Thank you for your time.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
