I began wrestling my freshman year of high school. I had never seen or heard of folk style wrestling until then. When I stepped onto the mat I fell in love with the sport. Wrestling is a sport that takes both mental and physical strength. By participating in this sport I have grown in both areas, which has made me a better athlete and student. I compete on all varsity teams at my school and currently hold the number one ranking in my class with a 4.0 GPA. My coach has chosen me to be the team captain for the past two years because of my ability to lead a group of my peers, my integrity, and because of the success I have had in my wrestling career. I have attended Camp of Champs three times and it has added to my wrestling experience tremendously. It is a summer camp ran by Olympic Gold Medalist Ben Peterson. Furthermore, as a result of my wrestling aspirations and achievements, I was chosen by FCA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, to be apart of a wrestling team that competed in Mongolia. This allowed me to experience international wrestling and helped me mature more as an athlete/man. I aspire to continue wrestling through my college years so that I can better myself and those around me.
