Personal Statement
When I started wrestling at the age of seven, I soon realized this was the sport I wanted to fulfill. When my senior year wrestling season ended, I had a realization. My realization was I do not want my career to end, I love the sport of wrestling. That is what prompted me to set up this account, I am here because I want to continue wrestling and being on a team is how I am going to do it. During my high school career, I had become a Two-Time Far East Champion, and that only made my hunger for wrestling grow more. My collegiate goal is to be part of a team and become the best wrestler I can become while working towards a bachelor's degree.
The thing I believe that makes me stand out is my work ethic. I am invested in working all day long. For me, if practice goes from three o’clock to five-thirty, I am at practice ready to wrestle at two forty-five, and I do not leave the practice room until six o’clock. When I stay after until six o’clock, I am either doing extra drills/practice, or I am helping out other wrestlers. I had been a captain during my junior and senior year, meaning I needed to be there for the other wrestlers on my team as well. I believe getting to practice early and staying later is what makes you better than every opponent that you are faced within the season. Even on Sundays, the day after a hard meet, I am at Chuo University in Tokyo practicing with their wrestling team to become the best wrestler I can. As for academics, I study and devote my efforts towards mastery of the material rather than just getting it done or for a good grade. I keep the same approach towards academics as I do wrestling if you are going to do it, do it to win!
