When I first started wrestling in high school I didn't know where it would take me but I have always been determined to do my best in anything I do and give it my all. I fell in love with the sport, the team, and the community that's built around it. It has been an exciting journey ever since I joined in my freshman year. As team captain I understand the traits required to be an effective leader and teammate. Between running that extra mile on the track to stay on weight and getting my hand raised, it has been a blast and a great experience. It's something I want to pursue as I head on to college. Wrestling has taught me how to balance my schedule and has made me into a more well-rounded person. I have never lost my desire to continue competing.
Looking ahead, I want to improve myself intellectually and physically. I'd love to wrestle at whatever level as long as the competition is there. I will devote myself wholeheartedly to whichever program I am a part of, and I will make certain to encourage those on the team to always aim for greatness in wrestling. I’ve discovered through wrestling that having an enduring spirit and an unwavering will to succeed provides me with the mental toughness to tackle any challenge. Academically speaking, I want to pursue a career in medicine. That’s why I’ve been enrolled in a doctor shadowing program and volunteered in the emergency room. Apart from my passion for wrestling and medicine, I am a piano player and love to play music in my free time. As for my academics I currently have a 3.83 unweighted GPA and I've set goals such as graduating with honors in my AP and honors classes so that I may prepare for good opportunities in college and life after wrestling. I've understood that wrestling is a battle, in which I plan to continue into college. I am looking to find the right wrestling program at a university that will help me improve and reach my wrestling and post-college ambitions.
