I come from a family of wrestlers; my father was a state qualifier and my uncle was a state champion. They are the reason I started wrestling when I was in elementary school, and I haven't looked back. Although I'm a multiple sport athlete at New Buffalo High School (soccer, track, wrestling), wrestling by far stands out as my favorite. I have learned a lot in wrestling - persistence, responsibility, mental toughness, physical strength, discipline, and focus. Most of all, I value the lessons I learned when I've had to get up off my back, both literally and figuratively.
I am thankful for my coaches. They have pushed me hard and have taught me how to be strategic on the mat. I will always consider myself a student, always looking for ways to improve and master the sport I love.
