Wrestling has been a huge part of my life. My love for the sport came from my father. He began teaching me to wrestle when I was six years old. When I started wrestling, I was unsure if I would move on to more advanced levels. My unsureness pushed me to where I am today.
I am a hard worker. I push myself until I can not go any further and then I continue to push on. I strive to be better than my opponents and treat each match like it is my last. My hard work has continued on through quarantine. At first, it was wrestling with my father in the living room, running and biking difficult routes and weight lifting. That evolved to cleaning the garage to fit in weight lifting equipment and a wrestling mat so I could continue my hard work throughout quarantine and inspire my team mates to do the same.
I learn from my mistakes, the ones that I make are some of my best motivation to better myself on and off of the mat. I always make sure I do not make that same mistake twice. One way I have learned to correct my mistakes is observing my opponents. Every wrestler had their own style and pattern. By learning their pattern, you know how to combat their next move.
Hard work and mistakes can also be involved in the classroom. If you do not work hard in the classroom you will not be able to work hard on the mat. Without hard work you make unnecessary mistakes and those mistakes can lead to failure not only in the classroom but on the mat. I have watched my teammates fight through that process and push myself to be the best student that I possibly can be so that I can work to reach my full potential as a wrestler.
I know there is still a lot for me to learn, but I am excited to gain more knowledge and feedback. By recruiting me to your team, you will not only be gaining a hard worker but a team leader who will admit their mistakes and learn from them.
