Having ADHD, academic success has never been easy for me. As well, my recent success in wrestling had not come easy, starting later than many peers in the youth wrestling circuit and leaving the sport during 7th and 8th grade to pursue another grappling art - Jiu Jitsu. Yet, in academics and wrestling (and Jiu Jitsu), I have learned to persevere and never quit. I have learned that sometimes my best is not good enough and I need to pick myself up and continue to strive to learn and continue to strive to win on the mat - and in life. My Midwest hard work ethic, never quit attitude and desire to always improve will be a benefit to the right wrestling program. And, the right college will be a benefit to me in helping me to achieve my academic goals, which require more exploration to define.
To prepare for my final high school season, and looking toward collegiate wrestling, I’m investing into my development in the off-season with wrestling and jiu jitsu practice and tournaments, wrestling camp, and getting stronger by hitting the gym. I’m also building strength and mental toughness by working hard labor outdoors throughout the summer and plan to participate in pre-season club wrestling with a goal of being a MN state champion at #220 in 2023.
