My GPA is a 3.37 and my goal is to improve that to a 3.5 or better by the end of my senior year. My passion for wrestling is unexplainable, after being an All American at Fargo and Folkstytle Nationals. My 2014 performance in Greco at Fargo, as a first year Cadet,, was a motivator to stay hungry and get myself a stop sign the next year! Unfortunately my 2015 season was ended shortly after I won my first high school state championship at 113 pounds 3A, as I dislocated and fractured my elbow and didn’t get to wrestle at Fargo this past season. One big thing that my ,coaches Brandon Paulson, Jared Lawrence, and Coach Olsen say is that up to this point in my career strength has been my weakness and what I need to improve on. As a result, this is an area where I'm focusing my efforts. What I feel sets me apart from others is my mat awareness, technique, learning ability, and the fact that I’m very coachable. There’s nothing better than having great coaches that can only help me get to where I want to be someday and achieve my goal of being the best I can be. Part of that for me is having the attitude of learning to “LOVE THE FIGHT”. Brandon Paulson always empasizes this. I try to live on his advice which is “Eat right, sleep right, make good decisions, be great in school, and in anything you do and this will make you great.” I feel like many good athletes take the education and school part for granted. Unfortunately, wrestlers can’t make a living from just wrestling because eventually you won’t be able to wrestle when your 50. I see wrestling as an experience that can best prepare me for life after wrestling and understand the importance of excelling in my academic career as well as my wrestling career.
