There are many reasons why I would be great for your team. To start, I have been wrestling since I was 6 and have a passion for the sport like no one else. The sport is like a science to me and I am always eager to keep learning and improving. I have had so many hardships and so many triumphs in this sport, that it is basically my life. I've been injured 2 times, the second resulting in rotator cuff repair surgery which put put me out of any activity for a whole year (my sophomore year), but I came back. Last year I made the jump from being 106-120 pound wrestler to being a 170-182 pound wrestler. I had not been on a mat since my injury in December of 2018, thus September of 2019 I returned to the mat. My return was very strong, losing my entire sophomore year after thousands of hours of off season sweat and tears was hard, but I knew the only thing that could stop me from being great is myself. My technique was still there, but my strength was not, which resulted in me getting second in districts and losing in the first round of regions. My goal has always been to be a state champion in high school, and I won't settle for anything less. This offseason I have been training like a mad man, and this coming season I am looking to avenge my lost season and finally reach my goal. My freshman and sophomore years I was very immature, being a year younger than all the kids in my grade, I hadn't matured and my grades reflected that. This year I have become a great student getting all A's and B's and have brought my GPA up above a 3.0. in the last 2 years (not counting the season I lost) our team at Northern Highlands has won 2 league championships, and has returned to the state tournament (which we have not been to in upwards of 10 years.). My club coach/mentor Pete Gonzalez & I always aim for gold. We are not cutting any corners, wether it be mindset training, strength, stamina, and technique, I am committed to it all. This coming year will reflect all the hard work and determination. In conclusion I will bring to any team I wrestle for a drive and commitment to the sport like no other, a consistent love for my team and for persistent improvement as a group and individual. A relentless mind set and a love for being coached and pushed to Improve by whichever coach I am lucky to wrestle for, striving for consistency always, because as my coach says "hard work means nothing if you are not consistent."
