Some of the things I feel set me apart from other students are my abilities to think for myself and stand up for what I believe. I believe that I am my own person, as a wrestler I have only myself to rely on on the mat. This has taught me so much about who I am off the mat. I have learned that I can not depend on others. I do not rely on others or the social pressures of my friends. I stand up for the values I believe in. I feel like one big thing that sets me apart from others is my ability to go out of my way in helping others or simply being compassionate for others. I once received an award for wrestling a kid with autism and doing the right thing and making him feel good about himself. It wasn't about a win that match, it was about making someone feel good about themselves. I always will stand on my ground when I believe my values are at stake. I will always intervene when I feel someone is being rude or disrespectful to others who are different. I will always be my own person, make my own decisions and lead by example.
