I aspire to find a college that I feel at home at, and one that provides the resources to fulfill my current long term goals. My long term goal is to some day become an architectural engineer. I am a realist and know this long term goal may change over time. Reassessment of my goals is important and therefore looking to achieve a degree in civil engineering that could lead my to my long term goal is my current plan. As an entering sophomore in high school, I find myself to be very organized and focused on academics being the driving force to success with my sports. I know that my time management and ability to juggle a taxing schedule has made me into the successful student athlete I am today. I understand that I was not born with talent, and that any success I have or want, I must work for. I feel the coaches that I have encountered since youth sports have helped to show me this, and shape me into a leader. I have become a leader both on the mat and in the classroom. One thing that speaks to my character as a student and an athlete is when COVID shut everything down. I continued to get up every morning shower, get dressed for school and complete all my school work as if I was in class. Once completed, I continued to stay active lifting weights at home, running outside, or wrestling one of my family members in the family room. I knew I needed to work at all of my activities in order to not fall behind. Most of my friends slept in, and were uninterested in staying ahead. I started a daily wakeup group text, encouraging everyone to lean on each other to stay ahead on tasks. In the end, as a student in the classroom or a student athlete I will always give over 100% to my professor or coaches to be the best I can be.
